When Should Saw Palmetto Be Used

All men should take good care of their reproductive system. Its health is not only a guarantee of the fact that they will have children in future. It is also a guarantee of a long life without prostate cancer. Cancer that appears in the reproductive system of both men and women is one of the most frequent causes of death. Still, it is easier to prevent such a health issue than to treat it when it has already developed.

What is saw palmetto? As a rule, it comes as a food supplement that is based on herbs and vegetable extracts. It is used to sustain men’s health and keep their prostate in a normal condition. Extracts of saw palmetto berries are the main working component of the remedy. Saw palmetto has showed significant effect in treatment of sickly conditions of the gland. It can also be used as a preventive means that regulates the amount of hormones, affecting the gland and other systems of the body.

Non-malignant growth of prostate is a health condition that causes pinching of urethra. It leads to frequent and incomplete urination that is often painful due to the swollen gland at first and joining of infections later. It is very important to remember that such a state of health is very common for practically 70% of all men above 60. Such a state of health is caused by a form of testosterone that attacks the gland and makes it defend itself with hyperplasia and swelling. The process of development of this disease takes months or even years. at first men do not give enough attention to the way their urination process happen and later resort to self-treatment of consequences as cystitis or even sexually transmitted diseases. However, it is necessary to remember that saw palmetto is only a means that can or cannot fight the disease. All men after 50 need to pass regular examinations that will show the way their prostate lives.

Though saw palmetto is said to be a cure for men, women can also take it. It is given to women in rare cases because they rarely have big excess of testosterone in their bodies. The remedy has a very acute estrogenic effect, so it is forbidden for women with breast cancer. This very estrogenic effect can be very useful in case a woman wants to clear away acne or reduce hair fall (the effect is still not proved).
